SWEET SOUL

Sweet soul where are your thoughts?
Did you sin
did you let those humans punish you
with their rules and their own gods
did they win?
Did they think they made it through
against all the odds

I may seem far away and blind
only time will reveal all that's unkind
so when you talk to the walls
I'll give them all ears,
the silence shall whisper
and clean your mud with tears.

INSPIRATION FROM ABOVE

South Carolina Cherubs after Raphael

Prayers are the language of soul. You don't have to be religious to feel the universal call of the human being which speaks through the words of a prayer. Some of them are beautiful poems, some of them are a simple reminder that no one is alone in his thoughts and doubts. Prayer is the true face of the present moment. It doesn't matter where it comes from, as long as it seeks for the light, it's something worth sharing with everyone.

There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.

There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don't you?
Rumi

Henrik Aarrestad Uldalen

''Deep peace of the running wave to you,

Deep peace of the flowing air to you,
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,
Deep peace of the shining stars to you,
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you, for ever.''
(Source unknown - early Scottish)

''Lord, I don't ask for a faith

that would move yonder mountain.
I can take enough dynamite and move
it if it needs movin'.  I pray, Lord,
for enough faith to move me.''

Norman Allen

by matialonsor

''Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.''

Beloved,

Guide my footsteps and give me the strength to trust the foot sones will rise up to meet me even when I am unable to see beyond my own light. Send in the ones that I am meant to help and those that are meant to serve as help and guide for me. Help me to continually gather myself up in my arms which are help within yours each time I break. Knowing fully that as I do so I am letting go and surrendering that which no longer serves me. Lighten the hearts and bring joy to those that suffer and speak as loudly as is necessary so they too can listen and answer the call.
Fill me to overflowing with your grace, love and joy, and expand this little container so that I can be a vessel from which all that is good flows out in a never ending abundance. With deepest gratitude for the grace and love that is always within me.

It takes strength, not weakness to seek the meaning outside ourselves. I believe every message of love and peace is a prayer. And therefore, the prayer has become today almost like a quiet rebellion.

Music has always had a strong link to praying since it's an act of creation which comes from the deepest parts of the human soul and not from the simple logic of the mind. In another words, art and spirituality have always been close companions. To truly feel and seek is to pray. May you find & create what you're seeking.

5 INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN WHO ARE NO LONGER WITH US

A princess, an actress, a scientist, a musician and a painter. 5 inspirational badass women and their memorable quotes that make our hearts and wings grow.

Call me Diana, not Princess Diana.

I want my boys to have an understanding of people’s emotions, their insecurities, people’s distress, and their hopes and dreams.

I don't want expensive gifts; I don't want to be bought. I have everything I want. I just want someone to be there for me, to make me feel safe and secure.

 I think the biggest disease the world suffers from in this day and age is the disease of people feeling unloved. I know that I can give love for a minute, for half an hour, for a day, for a month, but I can give. I am very happy to do that, I want to do that.

I like to be a free spirit. Some don’t like that, but that’s the way I am.

 I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.

I'm an introvert... I love being by myself, love being outdoors, love taking a long walk with my dogs and looking at the trees, flowers, the sky.

Taking care of children has nothing to do with politics. I think perhaps with time, instead of there being a politicization of humanitarian aid, there will be a humanization of politics.

There is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don't need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain.

If I'm honest I have to tell you I still read fairy-tales and I like them best of all.

A scientist in his laboratory is not a mere technician: he is also a child confronting natural phenomena that impress him as though they were fairy tales.

One never notices what has been done; one can only see what remains to be done.

I have frequently been questioned, especially by women, of how I could reconcile family life with a scientific career. Well, it has not been easy.

Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas.

 When I was studying... there weren't any black concert pianists. My choices were intuitive, and I had the technique to do it. People have heard my music and heard the classic in it, so I have become known as a black classical pianist.

There's no excuse for the young people not knowing who the heroes and heroines are or were.

Greed has driven the world crazy. And I think I'm lucky that I have a place over here that I can call home.

You've got to learn to leave the table when love's no longer being served.

Life is short. People are not easy to know. They're not easy to know, so if you don't tell them how you feel, you're not going to get anywhere, I feel.

 It was always Marx, Lenin, and revolution - real girl's talk.

Nothing is worth more than laughter. It is strength to laugh and to abandon oneself, to be light. Tragedy is the most ridiculous thing.

I paint flowers so they will not die.

They are so damn 'intellectual' and rotten that I can't stand them anymore....I [would] rather sit on the floor in the market of Toluca and sell tortillas, than have anything to do with those 'artistic' bitches of Paris.

The most important thing for everyone in Gringolandia is to have ambition and become 'somebody,' and frankly, I don't have the least ambition to become anybody.

They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn't. I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality.

You deserve the best, the very best, because you are one of the few people in this lousy world who are honest to themselves, and that is the only thing that really counts.

BETRAY(AL) MY LOVE

The Godfather II, 1974.

“Et tu, Brute?”
― William ShakespeareJulius Caesar

Betrayal is probably one of the most painful experiences a sane person could confront. It is a low and unexpected punch, yet cunning and intentional, which doesn't come from the enemy, but from the ones you loved. It breaks to the ground the beautiful strong tower you have built without ever leaving you the space or the strength to rebuilt anything like that again. It is the cruel death without the opportunity for a decent escort of the deceased one. It is the strange sadness which cannot have the comfort in love like some other sadness. You don’t have the right to say goodbye, you don’t have any love left to forgive, and you don’t have the reptilian coldness to understand any of it. The only way to survive the betrayal is to forgive your own heart and separate it from the aggressor’s act in every possible way. Never mistake your integrity and love for foolishness. Never become the monster you fought. Take care of yourself for the love of people who are still there. They don't deserve to be the indirect victims. In fact, their love should bring back your faith. Through understanding the nature of this pain, give yourself all the time of the world to forgive and to heal on your own and be truly thankful for who you are. Now you know you can even walk through hell without getting burned.

“To me, the thing that is worse than death is betrayal. You see, I could conceive death, but I could not conceive betrayal.”
― Malcolm X

Closer, 2004.

“Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard
Some do it with a bitter look
Some with a flattering word
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword”
― Oscar WildeThe Ballad Of Reading Gaol

The passion of the Christ, 2004.

“What irritated me most in that entire situation was the fact that I
wasn’t feeling humiliated, or annoyed, or even fooled. Betrayal was
what I felt, my heart broken not just by a guy I was in love with, but
also by, as I once believed, a true friend.”
― Danka V.The Unchosen Life

''Everyone suffers at least one bad betrayal in their lifetime. It’s what unites us. The trick is not to let it destroy your trust in others when that happens. Don’t let them take that from you.''
― Sherrilyn KenyonInvincible

The Truman Show, 1998.

“Betrayal is common for men with no conscience.
If you're betrayed, release disappointment at once.
By that way, the bitterness has no time to take root.”

HOMEOSTASIS

Invitation to Inspiration

*Homeostasis (noun) - the tendency towards a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes;

When you look at a city, you know, it looks so unique. You feel this kind of uniqueness, you know, and especially if you go from a big city to a small city or if you go from one country to another. Cities look very different, often. They even feel very different. You know, and they are, of course. They certainly are.
- Geoffrey West

Invitation to Inspiration

When I visit another town and walk through the foreign streets, I like to think of the new city as one gigantic organism, which looks and breathes in a completely new way. I like to observe its most important body cells, the people. How they cohabitate, how they make this organism function. And it makes me happy when I can feel its healthy functioning while being part of it. As an intruder at first, as a tourist, and finally as one of its body cells.

Invitation to Inspiration

The harmonic atmosphere of the cities, as well as its external beauty, is always the reflection of something beautiful people carry inside them. In Amsterdam, it is the harmony of contrasts. Liberal and free spirited, settled and punctual. Shire during the day, Gotham city during the night. Surprising and bizarre, while  safe, clean and predictable, especially in its architecture .

Invitation to Inspiration

You can feel this middle century vibe while passing the old streets, and in the next moment, its modernity and progressiveness strike you back. The love of nature is evident everywhere, even in the homes of this town. Plants, gardens, neat parks, clean water channels, the wide selection of organic food, just to start with. And the people naturally enjoy every bit of it. Cosy homes, painted interiors, wooden furnishing, bicycles everywhere. And also, you’ll see cats everywhere. Nice, polite cats. Clean and equal to the citizens. It should be no surprise.

In the big picture, architecture is the art and science of making sure that our cities and buildings fit with the way we want to live our lives.
- Bjarke Ingels

But don’t be fooled by this free-spirited town. These people understand there are rules even when acting free-spirited, so when it comes to punctuality, work, traffic rules and respecting the laws , there are no mistakes. Without any pressure or aggression, you can let yourself flow into their daily and night routines, like the channels of the town, and you won't be bored. The beer, the clubs, the lights and sports recreation, hedonism at its best.

Invitation to Inspiration

And one by one the nights between our separated cities are joined to the night that unites us.
- Pablo Neruda

Amsterdam is one kind creature, individual, the animal, and the gentlemen. Just imagine German tidiness, English appearance, and Jamaican soul. That is how a tourist could interpret the capital of Netherlands. Ask locals, and they might laugh at you.  Especially about the last part. But they’ll love it, and that is why Amsterdam is one lovely and healthy organism, and he knows it.

Invitation to Inspiration

I think the art fair is very much a form of urbanism. I think something really happens to the cities when such a fair happens. The city becomes an exhibition; it's amazing.
- Hans-Ulrich Obrist
