MISSING VENICE...

There's no city more inspiring than Venice...
Invitation To Inspiration is missing Venice so much, especially at this time of year when there is LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA going on. For those who don't know what that is:
The Venice Biennale ( Biennale di Venezia; also called in English the Venice Biennial ) is a major contemporary art  exhibition that takes place once every two years (in odd years) in Venice, Italy. The Venice Film Festival is part of it. So is the Biennale of Architecture, which is held in even years

In anticipation of this year's LA BIENNALE, we decided to share with you some photos from previous years.

LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA 2008

The 13th International Architecture Exhibition is directed by David Chipperfield and it is titled COMMON GROUND. It will be open from 29th August to 25th November 2012.
So if you are anywhere near Venice in that time, make sure you visit LA BIENNALE. You won't regret it.

Love, Martina & Matea

  7. Love the floating city of Venice even if I have not visited it yet ! In the past, some movies from our country have got awards at the Venice Film Festival.

I love the quote that you have put up here -"more is not better, better is better".-I agree with it totally !

Also thanks for sharing the Haruki murakami quote on memory- I completely agree with him that memory serves a dual purpose.
Thanks also for sharing your perspective on what Architecture should be and how it can serve humanity.
    have a nice day !

  9. I've always wanted to go to Venice - though I've been warned not to go in Summer. Not because of tourists, but because of the apparent smell. Anyway, gorgeous post. :)

  12. This year's one is going to be huge, I love David Chipperfield, he's one of my fave architects. This was a great idea for a post, loved everything about it. Especially loved your choice of text and images too. If I had a choice I'd take life in a little apartment amidst a city than a big house in suburbia amy day.
